My rating: 3 Spankings!

I want to begin by saying this was a different twist to a romance novel. It was very unique to read about witches, vampires, werewolves all in one story.

In the beginning we are introduced to Stormy Credence being attracted to a starting up musician named Knox Gunner. Quickly we learn that apparently Stormy can't be with Knox due to a curse. The Credence curse. It's the curse where Credence women can't fall in love with their mate; if they due they must confess they are and eventually their mate dies to the revealing their love. I thought that was such a harsh curse to live with. How can someone live without falling in love or actually falling in love and finding out that you killed the one you wanted most just by mentioning how you felt about them. Very sad existence.

For the fear of killing him with the confession of her love for him, she ends the relationship. Years pass and Stormy is living a very high life with her cousin Light. They run the business while their mothers take a break. As Stormy and Light are in charge, one of their client's requests an escort for his friend. Somehow the only escort that they had set for him disappears. Stormy has no choice but to try to convince her client that someone else will have to do. Her client takes her to the friend he was going to hand the escort to and as if the stars aligned, the now famous Knox Gunner was the friend. Stormy didn't know how to react to it. She tells Knox that he has to get someone else to be his escort and Knox decides he wants her to be his. Thats where all the fun begins between them.

When I first started reading it, it didn't really capture me. I couldn't really connect with the character because I was no mystical being. At times I felt like the dialogue between characters were a bit to long. For me personally it started to get really good when Stormy and Knox reunited. The chemistry was undeniable and it was interesting to see two stubborn characters interacting. While the world around them crumbled. Towards the end, I couldn't put the book down. Everything was building up and I was curious to know what would happen next!

I thought it was a very interesting read. I mean how many times do we get a sexy werewolf that is the a rockstar? Not many! He definitely was swooning material. Everything fit with how he acted and his attitude and being a wolf-shifter because he was dominant and protective of what he loved which well describes a wolf.

Overall, I recommend this novel to those who loves mystical beings such as werewolves, witches, and etc. In the end, I was surprised that I ended up liking it and can't wait to the second installment to read about Light.
